The Northern Branch of the Jowett Car Club of New Zealand is a friendly group whose interests are centred around Jowett vehicles. We invite interested persons to join. You don't have to have a Jowett, we can soon find one for you! You'll find it relatively inexpensive for such an interesting classic vehicle. The club has a full supply of New and 2nd Hand Parts, and members are very helpful with restoration assistance and advice.

Kumeu Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival:  20th to 21st Jan 2018

Whilst not a club event several members were expected to attend. Entry was free to those that brought a classic , hot rod, vintage type car


Thames Wings and Wheels: 27 January 2018

An event hosted by the Hauraki Aeroclub and Thames Vintage Classic Car Club. A static display of aircraft and vehicles.

Meguiars NZ Classic Car Fun Run:  Sat 10th Feb 2018

A chance to participate in a scenic rally with a large number of different classic cars and show the Jowett marque. Last year several members entered this event that boasted around 200 classic and exotic cars

  Galaxy of Cars:  Western Spring Speedway Grounds 18th Feb, 2018

  9.30am – 3.00pm

This is the major Auckland display for Classic Cars of our era. It also doubles up as our Club Pride of  Ownership event, for The Christie Cup.

 The Jowett Car Club traditionally has strong numbers at this display.  Will your Jowett be  there?

 We urge out of town members to think about this event. Billets can be arranged, so you can  make a weekend of it

  Bring a picnic lunch and your Jowett and enjoy a relaxed day and see many other cars of a similar era to ours.

 Cars in place by 9.00am please.

Pukekohe Swap Meet:  3th and 4th March 2018
Not an Official Club day out, though attended regularly by many Jowett Club Members. General Admission $5/day, Selling sites $40 for the weekend, gates open 7am Sat, 8am Sun
This is one of the largest events of its type in Australasia.

Auckland Classic Brit &Euro Car Show: 10am to 3pm 4th March 2018
While the Club is not going as a group, Jowett Cars are invited to attend.

Karaka Vintage Rally: This is a Bi annual event    18th March 2018

This is a Jowett Car Club supported event, Jowetts to be in place by 9am (no charge)

A great day out with more than just Classic Cars
Displays of Vintage : Traction Engines, Farm Machinery, Tractors, Tanks and Military Vehicles, and Motorcycles. Working displays of steam stationery engines. Craft stalls, Pipe Band, Dog Obedience, and Rides in various vehicles.

  National Rally:

The premier event on the Jowett calendar.
The national rallies began 50 years ago so next year to mark the 50th rally we will be returning to Taupo where the first rallies were held.
Dates are Friday April 21 through to Monday 24 and with Anzac day on the Tuesday 25 you can stay on or have a leisurely return home.
Taupo has a lot of attractions and is of course just an hour through to Rotorua.

All units have a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Jowett Car Club’s 17th Annual Fish ’n Chip Run 2018 details to be advised 
Meet at the BP layby on the southern motorway (just before the Drury exit)  9.30 for a 10am departure

Entry fee is $2 per car for club funds.

No Jowett, no matter, all types welcome

Out of town members are welcome to come directly to the hotel to join us for lunch approximately 12.30pm

yes, folks, it’s time for the Great Fish & Chip Run

This annual run is popular and a social event for all the family and friends.

The run takes in rural roads of Ramarama, Bombay, Hunua and the Mangatangai Dam.  These are great driving roads for Jowetts.  The run finishes at the Bay View Hotel, Kaiaua with a fish “n” chip lunch and a social afternoon.  There are optional questions along the way for your entertainment for the traditional Chocolate Fish Presentation

After lunch you can return around the coastal road with an ice cream Kawakawa Bay

This event will be held unless the weather is  truly atrocious the run will be postponed to the following Sunday.

Fuel Economy Run: 2018 details to be advised 

 Meet:BP Service Centre Southern Motorway (DRURY) Be gassed up by 09.30am for a 9.45am Departure

The Jowett Car Club Annual Fuel Economy run will take place on Sunday 3 September. The run starts at the

BP Service Centre on the Southern Motorway, passes through Pukekohe, Tuakau and highway 22 to visit the

Bush Tramway Club at Rotowaro for lunch and a train or jigger ride. Lunch (Pies, Sausage Rolls, Bacon Sandwiches,

Tea and Coffee), are available at the station. Trains rides depart at 11.00am, 12.00pm, 1.00pm, 2.00pm,

they take about 40 minutes and cost $15.00.

After lunch, the run continues through the rural Waikato country side to the Muddy Waters Restaurant and Bar

at Mercer for a social hour.

The Bush Tramway Club operates a number of conventional steam engines and gear driven bush locomotives on the

old Huntly / Glen Afton line which was opened in 1918 and closed in 1973. The line connected the local coal mining

communities of Rotorwaro and Glen Afton to Huntly, it also transported coal from these areas.

Car Club members from the Waikato and points further south are welcome to join us about midday at the Bush Tramway

and complete the last part of the run (approximately 1 hour) to the Muddy River Restaurant / Pub at Mercer.

It would be appreciated if people planning to complete the run andpeople intending to meet up at Muddy Waters for

Brits at the Beach:  2018 details to be advised

This is a weekend at the Coromandel seaside town of Whangamata,  2 hours drive from Auckland.
It is a celebration of all things British, but a key part is British Cars and motorbikes
The shops in the town get behind this event with British themes in their windows, music and food is British along with other attractions.
Last year some Jowett members attended and they intend returning this year
ith over 500 British Classics expected, accommodation is expected to be tight. If you are having no luck, check with local Jowett members
So why not come along for the weekend or just drive down for the day (probably Saturday Parade is best).

Te Aroha Cruise In:  2018 details to be advised 
The Aroha Cruise In is a celebration of classic cars, bike and hot rods.  Organised by the Te Aroha Business Association , this is one of the Premiere car and bike events in New Zealand, held in the historic Spa Town of  Te Aroha in the Waikato.   A gold coin donation for public entry, with a minimal fee to register and display your vehicle – this is an event you can’t afford to miss!  Nestled under majestic Te Aroha mountain, the Aroha Cruise In is full of things to see and do and will keep you entertained over the weekend. Show and shine day is Saturday, October 1st.

Ngatea Monster Garage Sale:  2018 details to be advised 

The run is to Ngatea Town Monster Garage Sale  combining with our Fuel Economy Run

 This will be a run to Ngatea with a couple of hours to search out a bargain, followed by short run to our lunch stop before

  making our way over the hills to refuel and have afternoon tea while the results are calculated

  Start is at the BP Layby on Southern Motorway, just before Drury turnoff.  You need to arrive to be all fuelled up and ready for an 8.30am start.  Tip: Ensure your car is filled right up until fuel remains visible in the filler tube as at the end we will refill to this level

cars displayed right outside in between building and racecourse. And lots of

photographers taking great shots of the cars with the models.

The Club has participated in a combined club’s gymkhana over the last couple of years and this has worked out well. We use the results for our own Club gymkhana trophy, the Ray Hanson Memorial Cup. The Jowett Club will be organizing 2 of the events

Jowett Nth Branch Weekend Away:  9th and 10th Dec 2017


This weekend away is always popular, a chance to do some touring in your Jowett, a chance to get together with fellow members, a chance to see the sights of the towns we visit around the upper North Island.

These weekends have been held at Hamilton, Rotorua, Cambridge, Waipu, Waitomo, Whangarei, Raglan, Waihi Beach, Tauranga, Dargaville, Tutukaka, Thames, Coromandel, Waihi Town, and Tairua. This year the Jowett Club is visiting Matamata.

Over the weekend we will visit a military museum, checking out a Jupiter restoration, visiting the Firth Tower village at Matamata and a few other activities..

We will be departing the BP layby at 8.30am on the Saturday and Waikato members can meet us at our first stop at the Tauwhare Military Museum, 1149 Victoria Rd, Tauwhare (or Matangi) at 10am. This will also be our morning tea stop (provided)

You will also need to bring your lunch for Saturday, although tea and coffee will be provided.
